About

Dr Mumtoz (pronounced as Moomtoz) Kamolzoda is a Registered Nutritional Therapist, member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine, the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, and a graduate of the Institute for Optimal Nutrition.

Her approach to nutrition is founded on scientific research. Her interests extend to the medicinal use of herbs, and she is currently qualifying as a herbalist at the College of Naturopathic Nutrition in London.

In addition to herbalism, she is qualified in naturopathic principles, such as the basics of Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, and iridology.

Mumtoz grew up in Tajikistan, Central Asia. As a child, she was interested in alternative medicine and healing herbs. However, life took her around the world studying the Chinese language, Indian photography, art history in the U.S.A. and politics in the U.K. with the goal of becoming a cultural diplomat.

Finally, while doing her Ph.D. in the U.K., the stress and long-term antibiotics caused health issues, such as IBS, depression, anxiety and a histamine intolerance to foods that conventional medicine was unable to help her to treat. She then decided to apply the skills gathered during her academic endeavours to research the issues and to help herself. Eventually, Mumtoz qualified in nutritional science, and in parallel, started to learn herbal medicine and naturopathy.

Changes in diet and lifestyle are her preferred way of helping clients, though she will also suggest supplements where necessary.

Apart from diet and exercise, she is also passionate about healthy cooking and toxin-free homes (refurbishment, cleaning products, personal care, organic gardening, etc.) and, if needed, can help her clients in these areas.

Mumtoz is based in Oxfordshire. She works both online and face-to-face.
